Community guidelines

EARTH WEAVERS exists so that the craft can pass on from hands to hands. Being able to make something yourself — from what grows and can be found where you live — is not a hobby. It is a way of belonging to the earth.

Everything made here points the same way. A community, a workshop and a thing in the market are three forms of the same.

EARTH WEAVERS is people who weave, plait, dye, ferment and build. That is what gathers us — not agreement about everything else.

Whether you start a community, hold a workshop, or put something out in the market, you are saying yes to the same thing three times.

That it is real. Made by hands, from materials the earth can carry, or passed on from one life to the next.

That there is room. Whoever has just begun must be able to come in — including when she cannot do anything yet.

That what you say holds. The time, the price, the materials, and what you promise to send.

The market has its own frame for what belongs on the shelves. It says the same in other words.

There is no room for hate here. Not for racism, not for homophobia or transphobia, not for contempt about anyone's body, faith, age, language or where they come from.

This holds everywhere: in the forum, in messages, at a workshop and in a stall in the market. It also holds when it is meant as a joke.

Nobody arrived here fully trained. Ask about what you do not know, and answer what you do know — including when the answer is that you tried and it went wrong.

Say so if you cannot come. Arrive on time. If something comes home with you as a loan, it goes home again in the condition it had.

What others write and photograph here is theirs. Do not pass it on without asking — not what is written in a closed group, and not what is in a message.

In the market you deal directly with each other. Write truthfully about what you sell, say what is wrong with it, and keep what you promise about sending and collecting.

If something ugly happens — offensive behaviour, harassment, a deal falling apart — write to us at dream@earthweavers.dk. We read it, and we answer.

We can talk to both sides, ask someone to stop, remove what has been posted, and in the end close an account. We cannot read your private messages — so bring along what you would like us to see.
